Application of PPO, PC and PA in photovoltaic junction box

The photovoltaic junction box is a connector between the solar cell array composed of solar cell modules and the solar charging control device. It is an interdisciplinary comprehensive design integrating electrical design, mechanical design and material science.

Requirements for photovoltaic junction boxes
Due to the particularity of the use of solar cell modules and their expensive value, the solar junction box must have the following characteristics:
1) Good anti-aging and UV resistance;
2) Can be used in harsh outdoor environment;
3) With excellent heat dissipation mode, reasonable cavity volume to effectively reduce the internal temperature to meet the electrical safety requirements;
4) Good waterproof and dustproof function.

Routine inspection items of junction box

▲ Weather resistance can be tested
▲ Fire performance test
▲ End foot fastening performance test
▲ Connector plug reliability test
▲ Diode pitch temperature detection
▲ Contact resistance detection
For the above testing items, we recommend PPO material for the junction box body/cover parts; PPO and PC materials are used for connectors; PA66 is used for nuts.

1) Performance requirements of junction box body/cover
▲ With good anti-aging, UV resistance;
▲ Lower body resistance;
▲ Excellent flame retardant performance;
▲ Good chemical resistance;
▲ Resistance to various impacts, such as the impact of mechanical tools.
2) Several major factors for recommending PPO materials
PPO in the five engineering plastics in the smallest proportion, non-toxic in line with FDA standards;
▲ Outstanding heat resistance, amorphous material is higher than PC;
▲PPO electrical characteristics in general engineering plastics is the best, temperature, humidity and frequency have little effect on its electrical performance;
▲PPO/PS low shrinkage, good dimensional stability;
▲PPO and PPO/PS series alloy in general engineering plastics in the heat resistance water is the best, the lowest water absorption rate, in the water use size change is small;
▲PPO/PA series alloy good toughness, high strength, solvent resistance, can be sprayed;
▲ Flame retardant MPPO generally uses phosphorus nitrogen flame retardant, with halogen-free flame retardant characteristics, to meet the development direction of green materials.
